Mrs. Meta Theresa Sohl nee Ahrens, passed away at Dr. Cram’s Hospital in Sheldon after a sudden attack of appendicitis on March 12. She was aged 40 years and 15 days. The funeral was held from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and from the William Sohl residence near Hull on March 15th, Reverend Paul Bunge officiating. A large concourse of friends paid their last respects.

Mrs. Sohl was born in Hanover, Germany, on February 25, 1878 and came to American 1892. Henry F. Sohl and Meta Ahrens were united in marriage in Brooklyn. New York, October 18, 1900. They came to Sioux County in the year 1907. Deceased belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a good housewife and mother.

Eight children were born to them, all of whom survive their mother as follows: Paul, Louis, Adele, Ernest, Alma, Martha and Alfred and Helene, the oldest being not quite 17 and the youngest a baby of two months. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Johann and Lueder Ahrens in Germany; Gustav and Henry Ahrens, New York; Mrs. Helwme Von Oesen and Mrs. Henrietta Von Hassel, Brooklyn, New York; Anna and Mathilde Ahrens, of Hanover, Germany.

The funeral text of Reverend Bunge was Luke 22:40-16. Burial took place at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lincoln Township.

The bereaved ones have the sympathy of a host of friends.
