From the Sioux County Index, March 21, 1990:

Dr. Arthur L. Dittmer, age 87, of Sanborn, formerly of Florida, passed away Thursday, March 8, at Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn.

Arthur Leonard was born May 23, 1902, at Burt, Iowa, the son of John Dittmer and Catherine Kleeman Dittmer. In 1925, he married Beryl Stidwell. He graduated from the College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa. Dr. Dittmer practiced in Kossuth County for a few years and then in Thornton for forty years. In 1967, he semi-retired.

In 1975, Dr. and Mrs. Dittmer moved to Nokomis, Florida. Mrs. Dittmer passed away in May of 1986 in Florida. In February of 1988, Dr. Dittmer became a resident of Prairie View.

Survivors include his son, Dr. Arthur G. Dittmer of Hull; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Family graveside services will be held at the Jefferson, Iowa, Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
