George Dolphin, 80, of Sanborn died Saturday, March 31, at Sioux City. Services were Wednesday at the Sanborn Funeral Home at Sanborn with Vernon Spinner and Douglas Kellogg officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn, under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.

Dolphin, son of Wicher and Maggie (Myers) Dolphin, was born at rural Hospers on March 15, 1910. He lived his youth in the Hospers area and received his education at a country school there. He married Edna Block on March 15, 1934, at Sioux Falls, SD. They lived their entire married life in the Sanborn area.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack of Hartley and Steven of Winnamucca, NV; two daughters, Rita (Mrs. Robert) Hulley of Sheldon and Pam (Mrs. Vern) Hurtig of New York Mills, MN; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry of Sioux City and two sisters, Margaret Houlst of Austin, MN, and Emma Vaughn of Sioux City.
