AUTO MIHAP FATAL TO ROSALIE M. SCHWEBACH

Rosalie M. Schwebach, 24, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Schwebach of Granville, died at 12:15 Monday as a result of a skull fracture received in an auto collision near Adrian, Minnesota early Sunday morning.

The girl was fatally injured at 2 A.M. Sunday when the car in which she and her sister Alvina and Ray Berning (the driver) of Adrian, were riding was struck from behind by another automobile attempting to pass on a curve two miles west of Adrian on Highway 16.

Miss Schwebach and her sister were taken to the Adian Hospital where she died 34 hours later, without having regained consciousness.

Funeral services was held Friday morning at 9:30 in St. Joseph’s Church in Granville. Solemn Requiem Mass was said with Reverend C.A. Knobbe officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were cousins, Ambrose Schwebach of Sheldon, Joseph and Harold Niichel of Granville, Wilfred Hoffman and Edward Schnuur of Hospers and Marcellines Schwebach of Minneapolis.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Schwebach, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Niichel, five sisters and three brothers, namely: William Schwebach, (Esther), Mrs. Ray Ollendick of Elkton, South Dakota, (Catherine) Mrs. Clarence Stallman of Hospers, John of Granville, (Maryann) Mrs. Art Steichen of Remsen, Alvina, Henry and Iva at home; also 15 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother who died in infancy.

Miss Schwebach was born October 5, 1922 in Baker Township and died January 27, 1947 at the age of 24 years, 3 months and 22 days. She was a graduate of O’Brien County Rural School with the class of 1936 and since has assisted her parents on the farm.

Rosalie was a well known girl and will be greatly missed by all her associates.
