From the Sioux Center News, July 3, 1969:

WILLIAM DOORENBOS

Funeral services were held at the Boyden High School auditorium at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, for William Doorenbos, 68, farmer of Boyden, who died at a Sioux City hospital June 26 of injuries suffered in a farm accident May 14. Services were conducted by Ellis Tyson and burial was made in the Boyden cemetery.

Mr. Doorenbos was born December 24, 1900, near Middleburg. He was married to Evelyn Beyer April 18, 1944, in Orange City. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Arlin Pfingsten of Storm Lake; four brothers, Lawrence, Jake, Richard and Theodore, all of Sheldon; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Visser of Colorado, Tex., and Mrs. Gerald Dykstra of Bellflower, Calif.

A brief news note in the Sioux County Index-Reporter, May 22, 1969, says that Wm. Doorenbos is a patient at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City and is not too well, following a farm accident when helping with the pigs in the yard. No additional information about his accident was found in the online newspapers.

The 1925 Iowa state census shows his parents to be John Doorenbos and Winnie Bleeker.
