NICHOLAS SCHWEBACH, 84, DIES --RITES MONDAY

Nick Schwebach, 84, passed away Saturday morning at 2:00 o’clock in the Orange City Hospital where he was a patient for 2 ˝ weeks. He was born December 5, 1878, at Granville, son of John Schwebach and Catherine Ludewisse and resided on a farm until retiring in 1936. He was 84 years, 9 months, and 2 days old. He was married to Anna Thorman on November 24, 1908.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock. Reverend N.J. Becker officiating at the Requiem Mass and graveside service.

Burial was in the family lit in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Terry Grady, Bill Davis, Jr., Roger Schmith, Charles Schmith, Monte Noethe, and Merlin Schwebach.

He is survived by two sons, and six daughters: John of Melvin, Magnus of Granville, (Rose) Mrs. Ray Koob, (Agnes) Mrs. Ray Grady of Granville, (Gladys) Mrs. Lawrence Noethe of Melvin, (Margaret) Mrs. Leonard Grady, (Florence) Mrs. Arnold Schmith, both of Sioux City, (Anna) Mrs. William Davis of Paullina, 35 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Pete of Granville, John of Minneapolis and Jake.

His wife passed away March 9, 1961 and a son, Clarence, lost his life in World War II.
