GRANVILLE SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. NICK SCHWEBACH

Funeral services for Mrs. Nicholas "Nick" Schwebach, 70, of Granville were held Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Reverend N.J. Beck officiating at the Requiem Mass.

Mrs. Schwebach passed away Thursday at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

She was born Anna Thorman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Thorman of Granville on September 13, 1890.

On November 24, 1908, she was married to Nick Schwebach and they resided on a farm until 1936 when they retired and moved into Granville. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Parish, the Christian Mother’s Confraternity and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Surviving are the husband; two sons, John and Magnus of Granville; six daughters, (Rose) Mrs. Ray Koob, (Agnes) Mrs. Ray Grady of Granville, (Gladys) Mrs. Lawrence Noethe of Melvin, (Margaret) Mrs. Leonard Grady, (Florence) Mrs. Arnold Schmith, both of Sioux City, (Anna) Mrs. William Davis of Paullina.

Alto surviving are 35 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Lammers and a brother, Chris Thorman both of Granville.

A son, Clarence, lost his life in World War II. Also preceding her in death were her parents, 5 brothers and two sisters.

Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
