Mrs. William Schwarz, 68, passed away Saturday morning at 4:30 in the Orange City Hospital where she was a patient for several days.

Bertha Freking was born April 10, 1897, at Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Freking and later moved with the family to the Le Mars vicinity.

In January 1924 she was married to William Schwarz at St. Joseph Church, Le Mars, and resided in the Le Mars and Remsen communities, moving to Granville in 1934, where she since resided.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Church, Granville, Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock, Reverend N.J. Becker officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery, with Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen in charge. Rosary was recited at 8:00 o'clock in Spalding Hall, Granville Sunday evening.

Surviving are one son Andrew of Shenandoah, Iowa, two grandchildren, one sister,Mrs. Henry Schwarz; two brothers, Joe and Herman Freking, all of Le Mars.

Her husband passed away in 1954. Casket bearers were nephews of the deceased.
