Eugene Orville Keizer, 85, of Cornwall, Pa., formerly of Hawarden, died May 6, 2002 at his home. A memorial service was held at Cornwall Manor.

Eugene Keizer was born Sept. 13, 1918 to Gerban and Amy (Darville) Keizer in Plymouth County, later moving to Fairview, S.D., where he graduated from Fairview High School. He then lived in Hawarden with his parents while attending Iowa State College. He worked with his father at the Northwest Iowa Feed Store in Hawarden. He graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering in 1940 and was hired by RCA Corp. In 1941 he married Alice Schley of Council Bluffs. They made their home in Camden, N.J., then Princeton, N.J. before retiring to Cornwall, Pa. In World War II he participated with RCA/U.S. Navy experimental radar research.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, Alan of England and Richard of Minnetonka, Minn; sister, Doris Wilson of Traer, Iowa; brother, Milton Keizer of Fall City, Wash.; sister-in-law, Ruth Schley of New York.

He was preceded in death by two children, Kenneth and Elizabeth; his parents; one brother, Lt. LeRoy Keizer; and brother-in-law, James Wilson.
