Alton B. Schwarz, 70, of Granville, died Friday in a Sioux City Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were at 10 A.M. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Francis Nemmers officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mr. Schwarz was born December 7, 1909, the son of John and Elizabeth (Hebbelman) Schwarz, in Granville, and was a life long resident. He was a maintenance man of North Iowa Telephone Company more than 25 years. Mr. Schwarz was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post #5347, Granville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Corps.

Survivors include a brother, Joe and a sister, Mrs. William (Mary) Ahlers both of Granville.
