John Schuver died Monday morning, December 12 at the home of his son Anton. Mr. Schuver was born in Alsace Lorraine, France on January 19, 1858. He was married to Magdalena Mueller at Blieschweyer, France in 1883. The family came to this country in 1908 and settled at Granville. They farmed between Alton and Granville until moving to their present farm in 1919. His wife preceded him in death January 24th, 1923. Their only daughter, Lena, died in August 1910 two years after coming to the United States. Mr. Schuver was a well known farmer for many years but retired sixteen years ago. His son Anton is now on the home farm.
He is survived by five sons: John of Parkston, Nick of Noraspring, Peter of Remsen, Joe and Anton of Granville.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Joseph’s Church. Reverend J. Gerlemann officiating.
