Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, July 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville, for Bert Ballard,65, who died at his home after a brief illness.

Mr. Ballard was born April 13, 1909, the son of E.J. and Elizabeth (Schmith) Ballard, at Granville and lived in that area all his life where he farmed until retirement. He was married to Charlotte Graff on April 26, 1938 at Sioux City.

Survivors include the widow; six sons: Ronald of Carroll, Robert and David of Sioux City, LeLand of Chicago, and Keith and James at home; two daughters: Mrs. L. William (Jlyce) Keke of Waverly and Mrs. George (Sheila) Hentge of Wursburg, Germany; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Andres of Marcus and 2 sisters: Mrs. Dave (Hazel) Westhusing of Marcus and Miss Grayce Ballard of Englewood, California.
