Elizabeth T. Schumacher, 79, of Beresford, formerly of Alcester, died Sunday, August 31, 1986, in a nursing home in Beresford.

Services were at 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 2, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawarden. Reverend Edmund Adams officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden under the direction of Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.

Mrs. Schumacher, the former Elizabeth T. Starzl, was born November 11, 1906, in Halbur. She was raised near Halbur where she attended grade school and later moved with her parents to Emerson, Nebraska. She married Gregory Schumacher November 27, 1928, at Emerson. The couple farmed near Hawarden until 1934 when they moved to a farm west of Alcester. In 1968 they retired and moved into Alcester. They had been residents of Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford since 1986.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert of Beresford and Gregory J. of Alcester; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Bernadine) Bishop of Lexington, Nebraska and Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Wolf of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Rose Stillger of Emerson; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
