Kryn Schuller, 84, of Alton, passed away at his home January 22, after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held January 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schuller home and at 2:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church at Alton. Reverend Leroy Sandee officiated and burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery. Van Etten Funeral Home of Orange City had charge.

Mr. Kryn Schuller was born June 22, 1871, in Alto, Wisconsin. He came to Sioux County at the age of one-half year with his parents. Mr. Schuller was one of the early pioneers of Sioux County, and lived here his entire life. All his years he spent as a member of the Reformed Church and was treasurer of the Sunday School, as well as serving on the consistory for many years.

He married Mary Susan Leenhouts near Alton on February 28, 1898. Mr. and Mrs. Schuller were married 57 years, 11 months. They farmed south of Alton, until his retirement in 1919.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Kryn Schuller, six brothers, Dick of Maurice, Jim of Orange City, Anthony of Alton, Myron and Peter both of Hospers, Cornelius of Rock Rapids. John and Hubert preceded him in death, and one sister, Mrs. Ella De Kruif of Hospers.

Mr. Schuller was a kind neighbor, devoted to his family and church, and will be missed by many friends.
