Mrs. Albert J. Scholten died at her home at Hull on Tuesday April 25, 1911 after suffering for some time of Diabetes and Bright’s disease.

Gretjen (Hendriks) Scholten was born in Zutphen Netherlands March 9, 1844 and was therefore sixty-seven years, one month and fifteen days old when she died. Deceased came to the United States in 1872 and settled in Sioux County in 1878. Mr. and Mrs. Scholten were united in marriage in 1868. This union was blessed with eight children, two of whom died in infancy.

Deceased was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church of Hull and held the office of vice president of its Women’s Missionary Society. She was a fine noble Christian lady of an amiable character, loved and respected by all.

The funeral services were held from the First Reformed Church of Hull on Friday April 28th and the services were conducted by Reverend A.W. De Jonge, pastor of the Church. Interment was made in Hope Cemetery.

Deceased is survived by her husband and six children--John, Jake, William, Marinus and Gerrit of Hull and Henry of Edgerton, Minnesota.
