From the Boyden Reporter, March 30, 1933:

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kortekamp received word Monday evening [March 27] of the sudden death of their brother-in-law Arthur Brown at Pontiac, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were former Boyden residents.

RESEARCH NOTES

No additional information was readily located in Sioux County newspapers. There do not appear to be any Pontiac, Michigan newspapers available online.

His Michigan death certificate has him as Arthur P. Brown, residence 444 Osmun, Pontiac, Michigan; resident of the U.S. 48 years and of Pontiac 5 years; born December 20, 1876 in Toronto, Canada; parents David Brown and Margaret Armstrong, both born in Canada; wife Nora V. Horn; occupation, laborer, City of Pontiac; died in the Lake St. Yards, City of Pontiac, at about 3:30 p.m., March 27, 1933; cause, coronary thrombosis, arterio sclerotic heart disease, confirmed via autopsy; buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac.

The Sioux County, Iowa marriage register for 1900 has groom Arthur P. Brown, age 24, residence Boyden, a farmer, born in Toronto, Canada, parents David Brown and Margret Armstrong; bride Nora V. Horn, age 21, residence Boyden, born in Malcolm, Iowa, parents Arend Jan Kleinhesselink and Johanna Smits; married in Boyden November 21, 1900.

In the 1910 U.S. census Arthur P. and Nora V. are living on a farm in Pleasant Valley Township, Williams County, North Dakota. He immigrated in 1885 and is naturalized. In 1920 they are farmers in West Bank Township, Williams County, N.D., and have a 9-year-old daughter, Edna. In 1930 the three of them are living in Pontiac, Michigan, where he is a laborer in a foundry.
