From the Alton Democrat, December 24, 1926, Struble news:

Frank J. Dobbert was born Dec. 25, 1867 near La Porte City in Black Hawk county, Iowa and was the youngest of a family of seven. When a child of two years his parents came to Plymouth county and settled in Stanton township, where he attended the public school, later going to the normal school in LeMars. When a boy he joined the Evangelical church of which his paremts, Mr. and Mrs. John Dobbert were staunch members.

In March, 1895, he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Schurmann, also a resident of Stanton, where they farmed for a number of years. In 1912 he disposed of his farm there and bought the Joe Kruse place near Struble in Sioux county, which has been his home since.

For a number of years his health has not been the best and he went to various places to seek relief but found none for the past six months and he has failed rapidly and three weeks ago it became evident that the end was near and on Thursday, Dec. 16, he quietly fell asleep and his soul passed to the Great Beyond.

He leaves to mourn his wife and five sons: Clarence of Struble, one daughter, Mayme, Mrs. Carl Wilde and Roy, Minert, Arthur and Leland, living at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Frank Draile of Yankton, S.D., and Mrs. A. Pfister of Ponce, Neb., besides a host of friends who will remember his as a good friend and neighbor.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. Schneider of the St. Paul Methodist church at LeMars and the body laid to rest in the city cemetery.
