From the Alton Democrat, April 7, 1933, Struble news:

Death of Mrs. Frank Dobbert

Mrs. Annie Dobbert passed away at her home in Struble Saturday morning. Deceased became ill about two weeks ago but improved some until Thursday when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, death following shortly.

Annie Schurmann was born March 16, 1874, near Waukesha, Wis., coming to Plymouth county when a small girl. The family settled in Stanton township where she attended public school. When a young girl she affiliated with the Evangelical church. In February, 1891, she was united in marriage to Frank Dobbert and the young couple began farming in the same vicinity, where they prospered and about 25 years ago they purchased a larger farm near here and lived there until a few weeks ago when they moved to Struble. Her husband passed away six years ago last December.

Her life was one of sacrifice and help to others. She seemed happiest when doing good deeds for those nearest and dearest to her. She was a home maker in the true sense of the word, a good mother, friend and neighbor. Her cheery smile will be sadly missed by all who knew her, for she possessed a sunny and happy disposition.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Mamie Wilde of Struble and five sons, Clarence, Ray, Minert and Leland of Struble and Arthur of McNally. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Amelia Schumann of Hinton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Phil Held of Hinton and Mrs. Emma Reints of Long Beach, Cal.; 2 brothers, Will Schumann of Stanton township and A. J. Schumann of San Diego, Cal.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 at the house and 2 o’clock at the Methodist church in LeMars, Rev. Steinbrenner conducting the services. Burial was made in the City cemetery.
