Former Hull Resident Dies At Home in Washington

Friends here of the John Zoerink family were pained to learn last week of the death of Mr. J. M. Zoerink, the father, at his home at Lynden, Washington, April 7th, following an illness of pneumonia.

Mr. Zoerink was a resident here for many years before moving west and will be remembered by many of the old timers, who extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

FindaGrave.com has Johan M. Zoerink, born 1866, died 1931, buried at Monumenta Cemetery, Lynden, Washington. Spouse, Nellie Kramer Zoerink (1870-1962). There is a photo of their joint headstone. Children: Marie Zoerink Van Zwol (1891-1980), Jessie Zoerink Snapper (1892-1993), John Peter Zoerink (1898-1973), Ella Zoerink Tolsma (1902-2004), Henry Zoerink (1907-1992).

The 1910 U.S. census shows him living in Sioux Center as Johan M. Zaerink, age 43, married 19 years, immigrated 1889, naturalized, a harness maker; wife Neeltje (39), mother of 7 children, 5 living, immigrated 1889; children Maria (18, a servant), Jesse (17), Jan P. (11), Ella (8), and Hendrik (2), all born in Iowa.
