Mrs. Mary Rion, who lacked a little more than two years in being 100, died last Saturday in the Panska Nursing home in Hawarden. She had been at the Panska home for about a year and a half.

Mrs. Rion had 126 descendants, who consisted of two daughters, 45 grandchildren, 65 great- grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral home with Reverend J. Neuhouse of the Home Mission Church of Hawarden, officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

She was converted and baptized at the age of 39 in the Holiness Church near Springfield, Missouri.

Mary Rebecca Williams was born February 5, 1853, in Texas County, Missouri. She was married to Stokely Rion April 15, 1870, and to this union were born seven children, four boys and three girls. Mr. Rion and five children preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rion came to the Hawarden vicinity from Merrill with her daughter, Mrs. George Newman, a number of years ago. For many years she lived with the George Newman family.

Besides Mrs. Newman, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Lillie Carson of Hutchinson, Kansas.
