Adrian Punt age 98, of Sioux Center, IA, died Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018, at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. Stephen Breen & Rev. Travis Else officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Visitation with the family present will be held Sunday, November 4th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Adrian Punt was born on July 10, 1920 to Cornelius “C.A.” and Johanna (Franken) Punt on his grandparents’ farm near Middleburg, Iowa. He attended country school through the 8th grade.

Adrian married Gertrude Wilhelmina De Zeeuw on June 27, 1941 at her parents’ home. He worked as a hired hand from 1941 – 1946. He farmed the same farm as his parents from 1946 – 1966. The couple moved in 1966, to Sioux Center, Iowa where he managed the Memorial Funeral Home until his retirement in 1985. Adrian was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center and served as a deacon and elder.

In his free time, Adrian, enjoyed fishing and playing cards. After retirement, Adrian and Gert enjoyed spending time camping at Silver Lake and traveling. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adrian is survived by his three sons, Curtis and Judy Punt of Detroit Lakes, MN, Leslie and Cathie Punt of Sioux Center, IA, Paul and Sharron Punt of Burleson, Tx; a daughter, Joan and Bob Hostad of Sioux City, IA; 11 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Vis of Rock Rapids, IA; and a special friend, Loretta Vermeer of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Punt; his parents, C.A. and Johanna Punt; brother-in-law, Peter Vis; two infant grandchildren, Christian and Charity Loehr; in-laws, Herm and Edith Sietstra, Herman and Doris Harmelink, Andrew and Joan Brenneman, Pete and Frieda Mouw, and Arthur and Frances Schuiteman.
