Mrs. Grace Dykstra, age 94, of Hull, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, November 26, at 11:00am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. The Rev. Todd Zuidema will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation with the family will be the hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Grace Hendrene was born on January 12, 1924, in Sanborn, the daughter of John and Jane (Vande Hoef) Leusink. She was raised in Matlock, where she attended the public schools in Matlock and Hull.

On March 25, 1948, she married Peter Dykstra in Hull. They made their home in Hull, where she was a homemaker. For twenty years, she also worked part-time at the Foreign Candy Company in Hull. “Pete” passed away on March 18, 1988, in Hull, after almost forty years of marriage.

Grace was a member of the Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull. She enjoyed baking and solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two daughters, Laine Dykstra, of Sioux Center; and Nancy Runquist, of Lovilia, Texas; two sons and their wives, Timothy and June Dykstra, of Sioux Center; and John and Donna Dykstra, of Hull; four grandsons, Aaron Dykstra, Nicolas Dykstra, Zachary Runquist, and Jordan Dykstra; a granddaughter, Jesse Runquist; two great-grandsons, Landen and Kayden Dykstra; and a sister, Margaret Krommendyk, of Cherokee.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Leigh; three grandsons, twins Caleb and Noah Runquist and Gabriel Dykstra; and two brothers, Gary Leusink and Gene Leusink.
Memorials may be directed to the church.
