David Wayne was born on August 20, 1955, in Council Bluffs, the son of Frank Wolston and Opal Arlene (Fiscus) Hulsart. He was raised in communities where his father was a school superintendent. The family moved to Orange City in 1962. He graduated from the Maurice – Orange City Community High School in 1973 and Northwestern College in Orange City, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business.

On October 2, 1986, he married Karen Korver in Warrens, Wisconsin. They made their home in Orange City, where Dave was the manager/owner of the Dove Christian Bookstore for 34 years. He also coached softball at Northwestern College for over 20 years, winning multiple titles and receiving numerous awards.

He was a member of the New Hope Evangelical Free Church, where he enjoyed fellowship with many of his brothers and sisters in Christ. Dave enjoyed watching all Northwestern sports and volunteered keeping the clock at basketball games and keeping statistics at football games for many years. He was active in the Orange City community, serving as President of the Chamber Merchants and leading many of the Orange City Chamber functions.

His love of people showed in his daily life; whether it was on the golf course, at sporting events, or meeting “the guys” for lunch. Dave knew no stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, of 32 years; two daughters and their husbands, Laura Lynn and Nate Carr, of Maryville, Missouri; and Rachel Arlene and Brad Easton, of Westfield, Iowa; three granddaughters, Kiara, Jaxie, and Paige Easton; and his mother, Opal, of Sioux Center, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and his sister, Carol Lynn Hulsart.
