Mrs. Margaret Bosma, age 80, of Sheldon, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, November 17, at 3:00pm, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hospers. The Rev. Dr. Brian Janssen will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hospers Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 2:00pm on Saturday at the church. Following the interment, visitation with the family will be during a supper at the church. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hospers.

Margaret JoAnn was born on January 18, 1938, in Sanborn, the daughter of Charles and Jeanette (Andringa) Boone. She was raised in Sanborn and enjoyed California for a short time, while her father was stationed there. She attended Sanborn Christian School and Western Christian Academy in Hull, where she graduated.

On October 14, 1960, she married Erwin Cornelius Bosma in Sanborn. They farmed east of Hospers. Erwin passed away on March 28, 2009, at Hospers.

In 2010, Margaret moved to a condominium in Sheldon. She and her dog, Molly, enjoyed the city life there.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an organist. She also had the privilege of playing the piano and organ for many occasions in several of the churches and homes. Being a member of the church Women’s Circle was important to her.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was an operator at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Sheldon for many years. When the office there closed, she retired and became involved with antiques. For the next seventeen years, she went to many auctions and enjoyed the buying and selling of her “treasures”.

Margaret liked bowling, camping, golfing, and traveling south with “Erv”.

Survivors include her step-daughter, Rebecca Roby, of Mesa, Arizona; two step-granddaughters, Hayley and Mady Roby; four sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Doris Bosma, of New York; Betty, and her husband, Robert Pekelder, of Sheldon; Sophia LeMasurier, of Cherry Valley, California; Joe Bosma, and his wife, Mary, of Sioux Center; and Lori Muilenburg, of Sheldon; and many nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Clarence Bosma and Harry Bosma; and seven sisters-in-law, Winnie Blom, Grace Boer, Jeanette Bosch, Ruth Crawford, Clara Roos, Sadie Vander Weide, and Margaret Wallick.
