DEATH TAKES MRS. AUGUST REYELTS, RITES HELD FRIDAY

Funeral services were held Friday for Mrs. August Reyelts, 62, who died Monday at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, following a lingering illness. Immanuel Lutheran Church rites at 2 P.M. were preceded by services at Lockwood-Jongewaard Funeral Chapel at 1:30 with the Reverend S.J. Meyer officiating at both. Mrs. Rudolf Fick soloist with Mrs. Richard Eder at the organ. Interment was in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery at Hull with Henry A. Winter, Carl Betz, Herman Meyer, Lawrence Tiedeman, Otto Goeringer and Vernon Tiedeman serving as pallbearers. Lockwood-Jongewaard Funeral Home was in charge.

Frieda Johanna Funck, daughter of Frederick and Anna Tiedeman Funck, was born December 24, 1895 at Bulkan, Germany. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith January 5, 1896 and at the age of 14 received the rite of confirmation. In 1914, she came to the United States and lived in New York. Her marriage to August Reyelts took place at Hatfield, Minnesota, June 27, 1915 and the couple resided in Pipestone County until 1932, when the family moved to Hull community. Mr. and Mrs. Reyelts retired to Rock Rapids in 1944.

Survivors include her husband, one son, William C. Reyelts of Hull; two daughters: Esther, Mrs. Ewald Goeringer of Hull and Mildred, Mrs. Alfred Winter of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Henry Reyelts of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; one brother, Fred Funck of Kenneth, Minnesota; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers: August, Henry and Andrew Funck and a sister, Catherina Wilkins, all in Germany; a sister, Mary Schwecke of Ipswich, South Dakota and a brother, John of Madison, South Dakota.
