Died: November 27, 1941

John Reyelts was born at Cadenberge, Hanover Germany, July 2, 1871, the son of John and Margaretha Reyelts. He came to America and settled at Boyden, Iowa, working on a farm at the age of 17 and when he was 19 he journeyed to the southern states where he spent 10 years becoming an efficient butcher. He returned to this community in 1890. He started a butcher shop buying stock at Doon where he lived until 1930.

His health failing, he went to live with his brother, Henry B. Reyelts, northeast of Hull. He visited many noted doctors and clinics in regards to his ailment but to no avail and early in 1941 was confined to his bed. Death came on November 27 at 9:00 P.M. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 30th at S. Paul’s Lutheran conducted by Reverend A. Zenk and buried in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Surviving are four brothers and four sisters: Herman, August and Claus of Britton, South Dakota, Henry B. of Hull, Louise (Mrs. Bardell), Meta (Mrs. Schaap) of Chicago, Katie (Mrs. Clemens) of Salem, Oregon and Margaret (Mrs. Winkler) of Canada and 23 nieces and nephews
