From the Sioux County Index (Hull), January 26, 1961:

Funeral services were held in the Kraai Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon for Miss Emma L. Sheldon, 79, who passed away in Long Beach, California on January 12, 1961.

Miss Sheldon was born on September 25, 1882. She is remembered in Hull as a teacher, and moved from Hull to the west coast about 40 years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, the late Kirk C. Sheldon of Hull.

At the services in Hull Rev. Harold C. Ringenoldus officiated. Pall bearers were Gordon Mackie, Stuart Sipma, Floyd Gibson, John Hymans, Henry Hymans and Charles G. Sawyer. Interment was in Hope Cemetery.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sophia Sheldon of Hull and two nieces, Mrs. Hyman Hymans of Hull and Mrs. Paul W. Forney of Carroll, Iowa.
