Mrs. Ethel Jansen Reed, 54, of Alton, died February 10 in Good Samaritan Center at Estherville. She was a victim of multiple sclerosis.

Services were held at 2 P.M. February 14 in the Van Gelder Funeral Home at Orange City. The Reverend James Harmon officiated. Burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery at Alton.

Mrs. Reed, the former Ethel Jansen, was born September 5, 1921 at Alton. She was married to Robert Reed in 1942 at Sioux City.

She was graduated from Estherville Junior College. She was a member of The Christian Church at Estherville.

Survivors include three sons, Drew, Gary and David and one daughter, Roberta; also two brothers, Bernard and Raymond of Sacramento, California and two sisters, Mrs. Waldo (Alma Brink of Estherville and Mrs. Edith Frek of Sacramento, California.
