Peter Ravestein, 66, passed away at a local hospital Monday, January 31, at 9:40 P.M. after an illness of four weeks of complications following the flu.

He was born in Zuid Holland, The Netherlands and came to America with his parents when he was about two years of age. The family located in South Holland, Illinois. When he was sixteen years of age the family moved to Iowa and settled on a farm north of Orange City.

In 1900 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Den Beste and they settled on a farm three miles north of town where they lived until 1928 when they moved to Orange City.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Peter, Cornie and Effie, Mrs. Raymond Vander Meulen and three grandchildren. Other survivors are three sisters: Mrs. H. Vander Zwaag, Mrs. Jake Van Oort and Mrs. Teunis Swets.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church with the Reverend Mr. R. Bronkema officiating. Interment will be made in the Orange City Cemetery.
