Mrs. Peter Ravestein, Sr., 79, of Orange City died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 20 in a hospital at Orange City.

Services were at 1:30 P.M. Friday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Reverend Jelmer Groenewold officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday, in the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ravestein, the former Marie De Goei, was born February 17, 1903, in the Netherlands. She came to the United States in 1916. She married Peter Ravestein March 15, 1928, in Sioux Center. They farmed in the Orange City area until 1964 when they retired and moved into town.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, Faith, Hope and Love Society, Ladies Zangkoor and was an associate member of the Monica Society.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Peter Jr. of rural Orange City; two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Catherine) De Groot of Prinsburg, Minnesota and Mrs. Andrew (Betty) Engeltjes of rural Orange City; one brother, Art of Orange City; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
