From the Rock Valley Bee, August 22, 1930:

HENRY BOER LAID TO REST

Henry Boer, aged twenty-two years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Boer, residing southwest of Rock Valley, died Saturday, August 9th. Henry had been sick for some five years, but the end came rather unexpected[ly]. He did not seem to be any worse last week, but Saturday morning he died.

Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn his death, three brothers, Herman, John and Raymond, and two sisters, Effie and Ella.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Christian Reformed church and interment was made at the Valley View cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends in their great sorrow.

His death certificate adds him born in Iowa, both parents born in Holland; died at 9:30 a.m. August 9, 1903; cause, pernicious anaemia, onset 1928.
