De Volksvriend of Thursday Dec 28th 1933. Attempted translation

Carnes-26 Dec. Our community was shocked on Friday morning by the message that Gerke Mulder had died. He was healthy in the evening and went to bed, and in the morning about four hours it was noticed that he had died. It was a shock for the wife and her children who lose a husband and father . He was a Christian, and knew in whom he believed. He was born 1 Jan 1865 in St. Anna Parochie, Ned, and went to America in 1881, and married in 1885 with Martha Hoekstra, which was blessed with eleven children, of whom one at 32 year old age died, 5 years ago. The other children are Agnes (Mrs. Vande Brake) of here, Ike of Orange City; Jake, Home, Corning, here; Rena (Mrs. Joe Salah) of here; Harry to Alton, Dirk (Mrs. Nick Sjaarda) here; Tena (Mrs. C. Peters) of here, Abe at Home, Johanna (Mrs. W Roghair) Ireton, who with their mother regretted his passing, as well as 44 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, a brother Willem in CO, and a brother Abe here, and a sister Mrs. John Klompenburg Sr. of here.

The first years the family went to Orange City in the Church, and he served the Chr. Reformed church 10 years as a deacon, under Rev. E. Breen and Ds 1. Van Dellen. Then the Carnes church was built in the section where Mr. Mulder lived, and the family went to church there, where he was elected church council member after three years, and lifted the church. Now served in the embassy (consistory?) for 24 years. The church loses a lot in him, He was ready to help with word and deed. The Lord consoles the mourners. The funeral was set on this week Wednesday, with service in the 1st Chr. Ger Church in Orange City, officiated by Rev. Vander Lune from here, and order to earth at the Graveyard in Orange City. Because of the death of Mr. Mulder became the death of Mr. Mulder the Kersteest was postponed to New Year.

Note: From a report on ancestry.com (by others) Gerke Mulder was born Jan 1, 1865 in Friesland Netherlands to Yge Yges Mulder and Riemke Hibma. He married Martha Hoekstra Oct 31, 1885. Yge Mulder died March 26 1890. His wife Martha born August 19, 1867 Netherlands. She died Jan 25, 1936.
