Otis Cole Peck, son of Andros and Lucinda Peck was born at Monroe, Wisconsin, July 30, 1855, and passed away in Hawarden October 9, 1938, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 10 days.

He grew to young manhood in Wisconsin and was united in marriage at Monroe with Mary Utiger in 1875. Three children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy, and his wife passed away in 1882. He moved to Ames, Iowa, in 1891 and resided there for six years. While a resident of Ames he became a member of the United Brethren Church. In 1897 he was united in marriage with Addie Raymer at Monroe, Wisconsin, and in December of that year they moved to Union County, South Dakota, and resided on a farm west of Hawarden until 1931, when due to advanced years he discontinued farming and with his wife moved to Hawarden. Mrs. Peck passed away in March, 1936, and since then he has made his home with his son Clifton and family. Eight children were born of the second marriage, six of whom survive.

The surviving children are Mrs. G. D. Williams, Mrs. N.P. Smith and John Peck, all of Burke, South Dakota; Mrs. Fay C. Smith, Mr. Cecil Millikan, Mrs. William Watkins and Clifton Peck, all residents of Hawarden. He also is survived by three brothers, Willard of Madison, South Dakota; Eugene Peck of Muscatine, Iowa and George Peck of Los Angeles, California.
