Orange City Rites For Leo T. Oggel

Funeral service for Leo T. Oggel, 78, a, resident of Orange City in his youth were held Monday at Van Etten Funeral Home, with burial in the local cemetery.

Mr. Oggel died Friday in Highland Park, Illinois at the home of his son, Harold Oggel, with whom he resided.

He was born June 7, 1877 to Dr. Henry P. and Hendrika Z.(Van Bruggen) Oggel at Pella and moved as a boy to Orange City where, with his brother, the late John Oggel, he assisted his father in the publication of De Volksvriend, Dutch language newspaper.

After publishing newspapers at Pipestone and Jackson, Minnesota, he went into the real estate business.

Mr. Oggel married Miss Marie Ryhnsburger of Orange City April 7th, 1904. Mrs. Oggel died in 1928.

Surviving in addition to the son Harold are three sisters: Mrs. Robert Beatty of Sioux City, Miss Minnie and Miss Adriana Oggel, both of Iowa City; and three grandchildren.
