Funeral services held Wednesday for Mrs. John E. Oggel

Funeral services for Mrs. John Oggel, 86, who died Sunday at a Des Moines hospital, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the American Reformed Church here. Burial was made in the Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oggel, the former Miss Cora Lydia Fisher, was a lifelong resident of Orange City until moving to Des Moines about two years ago.

She was the widow of the late longtime publisher of Die Volksvriend, Holland Language Weekly newspaper.

Cora Fisher was born to Jerome and Elizabeth (Muilenburg) Fisher on May 28, 1879, here. She was married to Mr. Oggel October 16, 1902 in Orange City.

Mrs. Oggel was a member of the American Reformed Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Miss Elizabeth Oggel of Bloomington, Illinois and Miss Marjorie Oggel of Des Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. F. Bodtke of Pomona, California, and Mrs. Chester Dye of Apple Valley, California.
