Harry Morgan Dies at Age 83

Harry Morgan, 83, old time Sioux County resident and younger brother of Alf Morgan of Hawarden, died Monday, March 10, at Starbuck, Minnesota , after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at Starbuck with burial there.

Mr. Morgan was born October 30, 1875, in Benton County, Iowa, and as a lad of eight came to Sioux County with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Morgan. They were early Sioux County settlers and farmed in this vicinity many years.

Mr. Morgan married Jennie Jackson of Boyden, to which union were born two sons. They made their home at Ireton.

Following the death of his first wife he remarried. His second wife is the former Effie Hospers of Orange City, where they made their home for a time.

Later he had a restaurant in Sioux Falls and lived in various towns, retiring in Starbuck.

He is survived by the widow; two sons, Lawrence Morgan of Wakonda, South Dakota, and Kenneth Morgan of Sioux Falls and an older brother, Alf Morgan, age 90, residing in Hawarden.

Alf Morgan and son Lloyd drove to Starbuck Wednesday to attend the funeral.

Harry Morgan dies at Starbuck, Minnesota.

Word was received Tuesday by Mrs. H. J. Vande Waa from her cousin, Mrs. Harry Morgan, Starbuck, Minnesota, that her husband had died. Mr. Morgan was Sioux County recorder for one term, 1905-1906.

He is survived by his wife, the former Effie Hospers, and by two sons: Kenneth, an attorney
at Sioux Falls, and Lawrence, a retired railroad engineer.

Mrs. Warren Eddington of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Carl Borderwick of Phoenix, Arizona, are sisters of Mrs. Morgan and she has a brother, Dr. Gt. Hospers, Waterloo.

Mrs. William Schultz, Mrs. H. J. Vande Waa and Mrs. Ed Fisher are cousins of Mrs. Morgan.
Mrs. Vande Waa, Mrs. Fisher and Johnny Heemstra attended the memorial services held Wednesday in the Lutheran Church at Starbuck.
