Died: May 10, 1964Funeral services for Gerald B. Morris, 69, were held at 10 o’clock Friday morning, May 13, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Richard W. Reinhart officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
He died Sunday afternoon at his home at Hollywood, Florida after a long illness with cancer. He was born October 1, 1894 at Rock Valley and grew up here, graduating from Rock Valley High School. He attended the State University of Iowa at Iowa City and after receiving his law degree, practiced in Sioux City.
He married Loretta Hess of Sioux City April 11, 1929.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, two brothers, Dr. Reginald M. Morris of Jacksonville, Illinois, and Dr. Luke L. Morris of Marcus, Iowa; three sisters, Anna (Mrs. F. L. Dixon), Lena (Mrs. F. T. McGill) and Mary Morris, all of Rock Valley.
A brother Dr. Frank Morris died on April and another brother, Paul, several years ago.
