Mr. Gregory Jeltema, age 64, of Orange City, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, June 1, at 2:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Mark Vande Zande will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation with the family will be after 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.

Gregory Jay was born on March 18, 1954, in Orange City, the son of James and Alice Henrietta (De Vos) Jeltema. He was raised in Orange City, where he graduated from the Unity Christian High School.

On May 16, 1973, he married Karen Agnes Beltman in Hospers. They made their home in Orange City, where he was a livestock truck driver for many years before driving for Ag Partners for more than 20 years.

“Greg” was a fun loving and laid-back husband, dad, and grandpa. He was an avid NASCAR and Earnhardt fan, and enjoyed camping and being outdoors; Paullina Lake was a favorite. Spending time with his family and holiday parties were always fun.

Survivors include his wife of more than 45 years; four children, Jody, and her husband, Chad Van Regenmorter, of Inwood; Harly Jeltema, of Paullina; Tammy, and her husband, Cory Groen, of Little Rock; and Heath Jeltema, and his wife, Karmin, of Granville; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Emily Van Regenmorter; and Aftin, Cade, and Avery Groen; his mother, Alice “Nupe” Jeltema, of Orange City; two brothers and a sister, Wes Jeltema, and his wife, Teresa; Pam, and her husband, Rob Van Riessen; and Lyle Jeltema, and his wife, Karen; his wife’s step-mother, Gladys Beltman; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; Arlyn Beltman, and his wife, Elaine; John Peuse, and his wife, Helen; and Doris Beltman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special people, Tammy, Hope, Cody, Jett, Darien, Daimin, and Elaina.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kaylee Van Regenmorter; his wife’s parents, James and Joyce Beltman; a sister-in-law, Gloria Peuse; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Beltman.

Memorials will be used by the family for a memorial at Paullina Lake.
