Peter was born in Germany and came to America with his parents when he was about four years old.

In the fall of 1890, Peter Moos married Margaret Schaach at St. Joseph's Church in Granville, Iowa.

Peter and Margaret had eight children: Katherine Moos Smiles, Marie Moos Maharras, Peter Moos Jr., Henry Moos, Margaret Moos Prevas, Susan Moos Halverson, Nicholas Moos and John Moos.

Peter was a day laborer and later owned a saloon in Granville.

Mr. Peter Moos was laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Granville, Sioux County, Iowa.
