Mrs. Anthony “Tony” Moerman (Nee Reka Van Mill) passed away Thursday evening, October 28, 1948, an illness of 5 days. She was born June 5, 1866 in The Netherlands and came to this country in 1887. She reached the age of 82 years, 4 months and 23 days. She was married on June 4, 1891 to Tony Moerman at Hudson, South Dakota. They were privileged to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary last June 4th.

She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. L. Rickabaugh of Hartley, Iowa, Mrs. Orie Klein of Rock Rapids, Mrs. W.H. Bilsland of Archer, Iowa, and two sons, Paul of Stockton, California and Leonard of San Francisco, California. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bronkema of Ellsworth, Michigan, Mrs. Jennie Rickabaugh of Harris, Iowa, Mrs. Cora Dooyman of Worthington, Minnesota. Also three brothers: Gerrit of Miles, John of New Hartford, Iowa and Charles of Grand Forks, North Dakota; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 1, at 1:30 o’clock in the Church basement and 2 o’clock in the First Reformed Church with Reverend Chester Postma officiating. Mrs. Larry Salmon and Mrs. Ray Smig sang two selections “The Lord Knows Why” and “No Night There”. interment was made in Boyden Cemetery.
