The Sioux County Cemetery Index has an entry for Minard, Dwight H., b. 1 May 1883, d. 15 Mar 1900, Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley, Iowa.

Little additional information about him was readily located. He was the son of Elijah Jonathan Minard and Emma (Emily) Louise Hale Minard, according to his mother’s obituary (posted separately). He was probably born in either Bourbon, Indiana, or Hitchcock, South Dakota; the family moved from Bourbon to Hitchcock in about 1883. They moved to Rock Valley in 1893; however, they were not found in an Ancestry.com search for the 1895 Iowa state census. The Rock Valley newspaper for the first half of 1900 is missing, and the 1900 U.S. census was taken after his death.
