From the Ireton Ledger, February 28, 1929, Center and Eagle Township news:

Twin daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Riphagen last Thursday February 21. They lived only a few hours, however. Sympathy is extended to the parents.

There is one death certificate for each, with the name Infant Riphagen; born and died at Sioux Center, Center Township, February 21, 1929; parents Joe Riphagen, born in Holland, and Johanna TerHaar, born in Iowa; cause of death, lack of vitality, premature, 7 month pregnancy; lived for 3 hours and 4 hours, respectively; buried at Sioux Center.
