Grandpa Watson passed away on Tuesday morning at the home of his granddaughter Mrs. Haynes, after a long siege of illness.

Chris Watson an aged resident of Hull, died at his home this past Tuesday morning caused by infirmities of old age. We are going to press too early to give an obituary. One will be given next week however. Mr. Watson has been confined to his bed for months and the end was daily expected, but at that his death is a severe shock to the surviving relatives.

Christopher Watson was born near Newville, Franklin township, Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, August 28, 1815, where he grew to manhood.
On August 27th 1850 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Duffy, and to these worthy people two sons, John and James were born.
In 1878 Mr. and Mrs. Watson, and their two sons, moved from Pennsylvania and settled in Sac county, Iowa, where they lived until 1885 when they came to Sioux county, Iowa, and settled on a farm near Hull.
In 1893 Mr. and Mrs. Watson decided that they were getting too old to remain upon the farm, and purchasing a residence in Hull, moved to town. Prior to moving to town, that is in February 1896, they were called upon to mourn the less of their eldest son, John.

In July, 1904, Mr. Watson was bereft of his helpmeet.
For some years he lived alone, but becoming feeble, his granddaughter, Mrs. Wm. Haynes, her husband and family moved to Hull, and during the remaining years of his life did their utmost to make his declining years pleasant.
Mr. Watson passed away at 5:45 a.m., Tuesday morning, November 25th, 1914, aged 89 years, 2 months and 26 days and leaves his some James, Mrs. Haynes and six other grandchildren, and five great grandchildren to mourn his loss.

[**Note: If this age at death is correct, then he was born in 1825, which corresponds to Iowa Death Records for his name and date of death.]
