RITES HELD FOR MARY MCANINCH

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Mary) McAninch, 88, who died at Mapes Nursing Home in Hawarden last Saturday, June 28, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Associated Church with Reverend Herbert Young officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hal Shoemaker was organist and James Squier sang “In the Garden” and “The Way of the Cross”. Casket bearers were Taylor Flynn, Lee Keehn, Russell Johnson, Allen Mudder, Russell Bergdale and Bernard Bergdale.

Mrs. McAninch was a member of the Associated Church, the Ladies Aid Society, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Progressive Woman’s Club of Hawarden.

Mary Christensen was born April 7, 1881 in Denmark. She married Henry McAninch April 16, 1902. Her husband died in 1955.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Lavon) Bergdale of Alcester and Mrs. Harold (Fern) Bergdale of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
