MRS. PETER MCANINCH PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING--WAS STRICKEN WITH ACUTE ATTACK OF UREMIC POISONING WHILE ABOUT HER HOUSEHOLD DUTIES

Mrs. Peter McAninch passed away at her home in this city at 5:30 o’clock this morning following a sudden acute attack of uremic poisoning with which she was stricken only twelve hours prior to her death. Yesterday she was about her household duties as usual. In the afternoon she turned out a big baking and had just completed a small washing. Shortly after five o’clock while she was in the storm house at the rear of the kitchen she suddenly sank to the floor in an unconscious condition. Mr. McAninch was in the house and saw her fall and rushed to her assistance. Medical aid was at once summoned and everything was done which human aid could accomplish in an effort to stay the hand of death but all to no avail and she passed away this morning without ever regaining consciousness.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church in this city. Reverend C.W. Heady, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Interment will be made here.

Rosa Hills was born in New York City March 28, 1851 and died in Hawarden January 6, 1921, so had attained the age of 69 years, 9 months and 8 days. When five years of age she moved with her parents to Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood. On July 30, 1871, she was united in marriage with Peter McAninch. They continued to reside in Jackson County for ten years following their marriage but in 1881 moved to Radcliffe, Hardin County, Iowa, where they lived for six years. In 1887, they came to Sioux County and located their farm five miles northeast of Hawarden, where they continued to reside until three years ago when they purchased a home in Hawarden and retired from the strenuous activities of farm life.

Besides her aged husband, she is survived by two sons and two daughters, Harve McAninch, Mrs. R.W. Younie, J.H. McAninch and Mrs. Elmer Abbey, all of Hawarden, and one stepson, Sherman McAninach, also of Hawarden. She also leaves one brother and one sister, John Hills of Garden City, Iowa and Mrs. Nelson Griffith of Swes City, Iowa, besides a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The deceased was a home loving woman and the cares of her home and welfare of her family were ever her first consideration. She had long been a devout member of the Baptist Church and her Christian character was ever reflected in her daily life. Her passing will be deeply mourned by many outside the family circle.
