Found Dead at Scotland SD.
Lifeless Body of Virgil Gaylor was Found Saturday Morning.
Virgil Gaylor was found dead at Scotland, S. D., Saturday morning, according to word received by Marshal Matt Doctor from the county coroner that day. A letter found in his pocket from Ray Dale of Hawarden led to the inquiry here as to where his relatives might be located. The Ross funeral car was driven to Scotland Wednesday morning and the body was brought to Hawarden. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning at the Ross Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Robt. H. Forrester, pastor of the Methodist church, and interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. The deceased was a widower about 42 years of age and for eight or ten years was employed on the Ray Dale farm, southeast of Hawarden. He had been here but little during the past year. During the time he was employed on the Dale farm he was regarded as a reasonably steady and dependable farm hand and had many friends in Hawarden. He is survived by an 8year-old daughter, who makes her home with relatives at Algona, Iowa, and by his mother and one brother, who live at Medford, Ore.
