ELIZABETH LYNCH DIED SUDDENLY FROM HEMMORRHAGE

Miss Elizabeth Lynch died suddenly at 11 o’clock on Wednesday evening of last week as the result of a hemorrhage following a spell of coughing. The news of her death came as a great shock to her family and many friends of this vicinity, for, while it was that her health was not the issue, as she had been seen on the day tasks during the afternoon of the same day, and no thought that an end of her life was on the minds of anyone. The community is grief stricken at the sudden departure of this splendid woman and her pleasant personality and happy smile which entered its way into the hearts of many friends will be greatly missed.

The deceased had been in ill health many years suffering from tuberculosis yet she bored her illness with patience and cheerfulness and she fought a great fight at the ravages of the disease threw out the years and was thus able to be assistance to her family in caring for the home and of service other wise to the other ones. During the past four years she had been able and general news contributor to The Maurice Times and this service so conducted will be greatly missed by the publishers and the readers.

Elizabeth Mary Lynch was a resident of Sioux County where she lived throughout the full 35 years of her life. She was born on July 23, 1889. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Maurice where she has since lived. She received her education in the Maurice publishing and later attended the community school. She lost her father when she was sixteen years old. A few years ago her sister, Miss Kathryn left home to learn professional nursing at Le Mars and since that time the deceased with her mother continued the home life alone and was thus alone when the end came. With her death the family circle has been reduced to two, an aged mother, Mrs. Ellen Lynch and sister, Miss Kathryn Lynch, who deeply mourn the loss of a loving, kind and dutiful daughter and sister.

The funeral services were held from St. Mary’s Church in Maurice last Saturday morning at 9 o’clock, conducted by the Reverend Thoenissen of Struble and a large concourse of friends were present to pay their last respects to the departed. The remains were taken to the St. Mary’s Cemetery for interment.

The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.
