Richard K. Bekman

Richard K. Bekman, 69, of Mt. Hermon, Calif., a former Alton resident, died Sunday at a Palo Alto, Calif. hospital of a long illness. Memorial services and burial will be held Wednesday at a Mt. Hermon church.

Mr. Bekman was born April 9, 1909 at Alton. He attended school and graduated from Alton High School. He was associated with his father, the late John K. Bekman, in the men’s tailoring business. In the early 1940’s he moved to the San Francisco, Calif. area soon after his marriage to Josephine Wynstra of San Jose, Calif. He was a veteran of overseas service during World War II, later worked for Government Warehouse Supply, retiring in 1972. He moved to Mt. Hermon, Calif., a retirement village.

Survivors include the widow; one sister, Mrs. R. I (Dora) Corbin of Ottumwa, Iowa; one niece; and 2 nephews
