Mrs. Isaac R. Luymes, 83, Orange City, died March 26 at an Orange City Hospital. Services were at 1:30 p.m. March 29 in the First Reformed Church at Orange City. The Reverend Raymond Van Heukelom officiated and burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jeane Ver Steeg Luymes was born May 12, 1890 on the farm 1½ miles east of Orange City. She was the daughter of Gysbert Ver Steeg, a civil war veteran and Johanna Mouw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lambertus Mouw.

She was preceded in death by three step-sisters, seven step-brothers, one brother, Bert Ver Steeg, and two sons, Dr. Glenn Luymes and an infant boy, Irwin.

She was the last of eleven children; three step-sisters, Mrs. G. Kanis, Mrs. Nic Ver Steeg, Mrs. W. Krull, and six step-brothers, Jake, Ben, Cornelius, Henry, John, and Albert and one brother, Bert Ver Steeg.

She was married to Isaac R. Luymes on December 10, 1913 who preceded her in death on January 14, 1939. To this union were born three sons, Luverne Leslie Luymes, a baby Irwin, and Dr. Glenn Irwin Luymes, and an adopted daughter Alia, (Mrs. Ben Bruins.)

She lived in and around Orange City all her life. She taught school for six years, was a teacher for the adult citizenship class for two years, was news reporter for the Sioux County Capital and for De Volks Vriend for four years, worked as a price clerk in the O.P.A. office at Orange City, and for 14 years as a recptionist and treasurer of the Grossman Hospital at Orange City.

She leaves at her departure one son, Luverne Leslie Luymes of Newport Beach, California, Mrs. Agnes Luyme; Brauner of Bellflower, California, seven grandchildren, and her adopted daughter, Mrs. Ben Bruins.
