At her residence six miles north of Orange City at 8 o'clock a.m., on Wednesday, August 11, 1886 of hemorrhage. Hendrika Sophia, beloved wife of Hermanus J. Luymes.

Mrs. Luymes was sixty years and four months old at the time of her death. She was born in Elst, Providence Gelderland, Netherlands. Thirty-seven years ago she was married to her husband, Hermanus J. Luymes, and has ever been a loving wife and mother.

Mr. A.J. Betten, of the Volksvriend, has the following to say of her character: "She consecrated her life to her Master's service, and exemplified in a remarkable degree to the end of her life the noblest of Christian graces. She was a lovely Christian woman, strong in faith. She died cheerfully, knowing that there remainth a rest to the people of God. Her sorrowing husband, children and relatives can feel no doubt that their loss is her gain, that she is absent from the body to be present with the Lord."
